Miguel Batista completed the game without help from the bullpen as the
Chainsaw Proctologists staged a dramatic comeback over the Santa Fe Trailer
Bitches by a score of 4 to 3 at the ballpark.
Chainsaw had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
on 2 hits. After two were out Jack Wilson began the rally when he delivered
a one-base hit. Vinny Castilla came next and he cracked a two-run shot (his
4th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Chainsaw and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans. Chainsaw rapped out 10 hits for
the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Batista(1-1) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Kent
Mercker(1-1) was the loser in relief. He gave up 1 run and 1 hit without
retiring a batter.
'What a game!,' Batista said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
